Little Cloud worked with Lepta, an arts-focused community organization in Nairobi, Kenya, to bring an Urban Collab Lab to Mathare, one of the largest informal settlements in the city. The participants, local youth involved in music and the arts, spent the afternoon with us exploring the way in which music is made, shaped, and heard in their neighborhood, and how technology impacts it all.
They had an informal jam session during which they recorded and posted sound clips using the Camelô alpha app. We discussed ways in which they use their mobile phones now to make or listen to music, and how they might like to in the future. The amazing day was topped off by a delicious Ethiopian meal down the road.
